Bikini Shaving

Bikini shaving can be a daunting task. Luckily there are a lot of girls out there who are open about their bikini shavingexperiences, which is good for us because we can learn from them. You don’t have to put on those embarrassing big bottoms on the beach, or show your cooter-cat to a stranger so they can manually rip the hairs off your body (ouch). You also, don’t need to put strange chemicals on your body to extract the hair. Below, I’ll show you how.

Here are the steps you need to take.

Preparation: Firstly, you need to be honest with yourself and realize how much hair you need to lose. If you have over a quarter of an inch of hair down there, you need to take a pair of scissors and trim those hedges. I don’t know if you’ve ever tried shaving off a big bushel of hair but, it is quite painful.

Next, Start shaving:

The moment of truth. Again, you need to answer some questions. Do you have very sensitive skin? Then perhaps you would want to get a special razor from the drug store (maybe a mens razor) one that comes with a bunch of blades and a lubricating strip. If not, then it might be o.k. to just use your regular razor that you shave your legs and underarms with.

Now, you’re going to want to use a good layer of shaving cream on the area, and most people would tell you to go with the grain when shaving to avoid irritation. However, as I’m sure you have experienced. A lot of the time, going with the grain ends up in minimal removal of hair. A tip I’ve found useful is tying a side to side method.

If you’re just trying to shave enough so that it doesn’t show when you have on a bikini, then trying putting them on and seeing how much more you need to go.

Step 3, Treatment.

You’re probably worried about the little red bikini bumps popping up after shaving (and you should be!) because in most eyes, they’re worse than the actual hair. :) Moisture and rubbing is what causes these bumps on this sensitive area of the body, what I suggest is using baby powder on the area right after you finish shaving and are dried off. This will prevent the moisture from getting there. Also, there are creams you can try (which I don’t know much about) such as, the GIGI Bikini Soothing cream which you can search for Gigi Bikini Shaving Cream over at Amazon and seems to have some good reviews.

If you’ve tried GIGI or any other bikini creams let us know in the comments below, it could help someone else.

Hopefully this was helpful to some of you out there, if you have anything to add, again don’t be shy to leave a comment, it’s anonymous. :)
